Pastor Jim talks about the Fruit of the Spirit and what it's made of. Due to problems with the mic, we have no MP3 or video this week. Sorry. Fruit: The sweet and fleshy product of a tree that can be consumed and contains the seed of the tree inside of it.
3 things fruit is for: 1: It identifies the nature of the tree 2: It reproduces itself in more trees. 3: It tastes good, it nourishes and refreshes. The characteristics of the FRUIT of the SPIRIT: Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faith-fullness, Gentleness, Self-control Love: Agape: God's love, sacrificial at it's core Joy: Joy is the settled delight with life that comes out of a solid relationship with Christ Peace: Defined in Philippians 4: God's peace that guards our heart and keeps us from being rattled. Patience: Having a long-temper or fuse, or long suffering. Slow to anger. Kindness: Goodness in action toward other people. Notice them and uplift them. Goodness: Similar to kindness, goodness is kindness with surgery. A kindness that will help you get better if even it hurts at the time. Faithfulness: Hebrews 11:1-It is Faith, trusting in God Gentleness: Or meekness, one who can be gentle REGARDLESS of the scope their power. Self Control: One who masters their desires and the ability to do the things you aught to do and aught not to do. In this analogy, the Fruit comes from the Tree, and the Tree is your Relationship with God. To cultivate better Fruit, follow these steps. One: Renew your mind Second: Practice the presence of God Third: Keep in step with the Spirit. Fourth: Listen when you pray more than you Talk. Comments are closed.
