Pastor Paul looks at the passage in James that talks about wisdom. There is the wisdom from above that comes from God and the wisdom of the world. Each day you take in and give out all kinds of information. What you are taking in is going to be represented in what you are giving out. Pure In, Pure Out. James 3:13-18 (ESV)
Who is wise and understanding among you? By his good conduct let him show his works in the meekness of wisdom. But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast and be false to the truth. This is not the wisdom that comes down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and every vile practice. But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere. And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace. 1 Corinthians 1:19 (ESV) For it is written, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the discernment of the discerning I will thwart.” James 3:16 (ESV) For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and every vile practice. James 3:17-18 (ESV) But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere. And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace. Luke 6:45 (ESV) The good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure produces evil, for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks. James 1:3 (ESV) If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. What are you taking in? What type of seeds are you planting? Pure in, Pure Out. Comments are closed.
